The global version gets sturdy aluminium swing arm but the India-spec MT-15 gets simpler rectangular tube type swing arm with screw type adjustment for the sprocket inside the tube. However, as observed in the Yamaha R15 V3, the combination of perimeter frame and linked type mono shock will make it a great handler. Though we must mention the weight is 288kg.
Yamaha will place the new MT15 between the FZ/FZ-S and FZ-25 in its naked motorcycle portfolio. Yamaha MT15 will directly compete with the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 ABS and TVS Apache RTR 2004V ABS and their prices are INR 1.12 lakh and INR 1.11 lakh respectively.
